Singapore Airlines has emerged as the big winner at the 2026 Flyers’ Choice Awards, an accolade based entirely on passenger feedback. The carrier secured victory in four categories, including Best Cabin Crew, Best Airline in Central and Southeast Asia, Preferred Economy Class, and the Airline Providing the Greatest Sense of Calm.
AirlineRatings.com Editor-in-Chief Sharon Petersen noted that the success of brands like Singapore Airlines and Qantas is the result of years of passenger trust. According to Petersen, the ability to provide safe and reliable travel remains the primary driver in the aviation industry.
In the low-cost carrier category, Vietjet Air took the global top spot, followed by AirAsia. European budget airline easyJet tied for third place with Australia’s Jetstar.
European carriers saw more modest results. In the category for the airline providing the greatest sense of calm—where the list of winners was expanded—Latvian carrier airBaltic placed sixth. The top three spots were held by Singapore Airlines, Qantas, and Etihad Airways. Notably, European airlines failed to reach the top tier in categories such as livery design, business class quality, cabin crew uniforms, and overall crew performance.
Nevertheless, the study identified the airlines most preferred by passengers within Europe: British Airways, Lufthansa, and KLM.
